WHY DO WE PRAY?
Welcome to Vocation Action Network!
Vocation Action Network (VAN) is a network of individuals who love the Church and desire to fill it with holy vocations. These individuals are Vocation Apostles, missionary disciples in the Roman Catholic Church with a specific desire in their heart to help others to find their vocation. They include clergy, religious, consecrated and the laity who tirelessly pray and take action to build a culture of vocations.
By living our baptismal call, and ambracing our Call to Holiness, we offer ourselves yo Our Lord and collaborate with him to spread the Gospel to those he places in our path, supporting them with our prayers and encouragement. We extend to each person an invitation from Christ himself to a deep, intimate relationship with him. We encourage each person to seek out and embrace the vocation God planned for them out of his great love, from all eternity.
Lay people share in Christ’s priesthood: ever more united with him, they exhibit the grace of Baptism and Confirmation in all dimensions of their personal family, social and ecclesial lives, and so fulfill the call to holiness addressed to all the baptized.
Vision
Over the next years, we envision Vocation Action Network uniting, forming, and sending out hundreds of priests consecrated, and lay vocation apostles to impact the culture in five specific áreas:
- Focusing every form of vocational discernement on Eucharistic Adoration and an authentic sacramental life.
- Elevating the gravitas of the Universal call to holiness for all baptized (Lumen Gentium Ch. 4:39-41).
- Making the topic of one’s vocation a mainstream conversation.
- Accompanying and equipping leaders to help Young men and women to discern and fulfill God’s plan in their lives.
- Bringing greater unity in vocation work accross all sectors of Church life, resulting in a vocational plenitude of holy Catholic priests, consecrated, and marriages
Mission
Inspired by the charism of Regnum Christi to equip and send out Apostles, Vocation Action Network forms Christian leaders with a heart for vocations and a desire to help the next generation become vocation apostles. Rooted in the holy Eucharist and working effectively in teams, VAN communicates to the younger members of the Church this message: God has a plan for you, and we want to help you discover it!
Vocation Action Network seeks to build a true vocation culture in any Christ centered community in the Church, by building a network of committed Vocation Apostles. We aspire that all participants develop a greater dependence on the Lord of de Harvest (Lk 10:2), a renewed love for the Church, zeal for our common mission, and an ever deeper hope in Christ and his grace in our lives.
